Originally from California, Jess trained in Jazz, Ballet & Tap at North County Dance Arts, under the direction of Lewis and Tanya McKay.  Jess’ love for tap started at age 4.  Her grandmother signed her up for tap classes so young, because she would never stop moving her feet and was often reprimanded for fidgeting.

Jess moved to Owensboro at the age of 12 and stepped away from structured/classroom style lessons, but her love and knowledge for tap never left her.  Though not in a classroom setting, she continued to practice her craft - taking online courses, as well as traveling for lessons and master classes.  Jess’ proactive approach landed her as Musick Studios first ever Tap Instructor.  She has created our Tap Program from the ground up. 

In 2020, Jess took her first competitive tap routine to competition with our Federation dancers and led the team to a 1st place win, and division award. Jess also has a passion for photography, videography and editing. She has used her skills to jump start Musick Studios social media presence and now acts as our in-house videographer/photographer.
